Why Clarysse

Why Clarysse?

Creating the perfect towel, that’s the passion we’ve shared at Clarysse since 1953. We proudly create sustainable bath, bed and kitchen linen of the highest quality, for everyone who wants to make life a little more beautiful.

C2C towels in different colours

Sustainability, Fairtrade and cradle-to-cradle are our most important values, which we implement in our production process and our products. In its Belgian facility, Clarysse produces Europe’s most durable towels, woven on high-tech Belgian weaving looms.

Sustainability is not an empty word at Clarysse. It’s a main aspect of our products, but it’s definitely equally important in our company: 90% of our waste water is filtered and reused, and the energy generated in our weaving mill is used to heat our offices.

As you can see, Clarysse keeps the focus on sustainability in 2021. Only question left: how sustainable are you?

We constantly challenge ourselves to develop products that are safe and healthy for humans and the environment. Every fabric leaving Clarysse has to be upcyclable or biodegradable after its use.

Towel 2

Your old denim trousers are now a towel!

Meet Towel 2, our towels made from 40% (!) recycled denim.

For every 1,000 towels produces, we save no less than 1.4 million liters water and 410 kg carbon dioxide. That’s about half an Olympic swimming pool and a car ride from e.g. Lisbon to Athens.

100% biodegradable

Cradle-to-Cradle is all about infinite recyclability. The C2C principle revolves around products that can be upcycled, recycled or easily repaired – a principle we lovingly tranformed into a towel.

Our Cradle-to-Cradle towel is made in Belgium, pleasantly soft, and highly absorbent. The fabric is made of 100% cotton is completely biodegradable. That’s right: biodegradable!

Fair Trade

Fair trade towels

You’ve probably heard of fair trade bananas and chocolate, but did you know that there’s a fair-trade towel as well?

We make our Fairtrade towels in close collaboration with West-African cotton farmers. Honest and stable prices give the farmers the opportunity to invest in better living and working conditions, such as health care, easy access to water, and improved agricultural material and education.
